Once again, like the last cache I found up here. I parked at the cabin and walked. I needent have worried, the road beyond the cabin is do-able in a low clearance car and the steepest part of the whole walk was from the cabin to the trailhead. In fact the trail itself was so easy I was 400 feet past the cache before I checked my GPS. I had to try a couple of different routes uphill before I located it. Signed the log and grabbed the clues for the other houses.
Clever idea to have the puzzle "solutions" on papers for me to take home, no worries about transposed numbers or other goofs.

After a couple short hikes finishing up another series we decided to come up here and see about starting a new series. After getting this one I realized I didn't have enough cell service to solve in field. The temps were climbing so we went back to town to find lunch and air conditioning for a bit while I solved the puzzles for each house. I won't let it take 5 years to finish this one! Tftc!

After I punctured my CamelBack at my first cache (to the East at the top of this range), I canceled the downhill portion of this morning's caching hike. I decided to stop here to figure out what the hat was about. I'll admit, I have no idea what any of the schools mean. I have not read any of these books, nor seen any of the films.
I got what I needed and started at about 4 pm on this day. I spun 3 times and all three were Ravenclaw. I have no idea what that means, but let's do this!
I dropped a TB here, hijacking one of the toys as I did. I forgot to put it in the cache that I hid up top.

Billkat and I had some extra time today and stopped by to get the puzzles for the rest of these. There was quite a bit of water in the cache and even some in the inside container. Fortunately the puzzle sheets were still dry. TFTC

A field puzzle should be able to be solved in the field. I have AT&T and ernie66 has Verizon. I didn't get any service at the Sorting Hat and he got something bordering on dial-up. Geochecker is necessary for a multi puzzle like this and not many people want to go home to solve it and then come back...at least we didn't. Three of the four puzzles were easy, but the last one caused me to freeze to the rock I was sitting on and irritated Ernie. But this is a great trail and I was thrilled that he was able to solve the most difficult one "in the field" so that we didn't have to give up the hike.

Estes01 and I were looking for a good hike for today and I stumbled across this series last night. At first, I wasn't sure she would go for it since it is over an hour drive and we had done this hike once already back in 2013 with less-than-successful results. But it was agreed and off we went this morning. It took longer to solve the field puzzles than I expected since the cell service (at least on Verizon) was minimal. We got them all solved and checked and we were on our way. Going to give this a favorite. TFTC!
