This is up Buckskin Gulch. It is a BEAUTIFUL ride right now with all the mountain tops covered in snow. The reason it is rated a 2 is because you have to go through a bunch of willows. Its actually right off the trail.
WooHoo!! DorkTeam6 has come to play!!

Greetings from Houston, Texas! Today we were hoping to get up to Kite Lake, but we only got to within a half mile. That portion of the road is still covered in snow! In this location, however, the ground is fairly dry, and I found cache in great shape, with a dry log and well stocked with swag. Thank you for bringing us here!

Visiting this area once again, wanted to check if the cache made it through the winter but there's still too much snow. Will probably be at least a few weeks before it gets uncovered.

I'm currently on a 12 Day road trip from Indiana to Colorado and my goal is to get geocaches in as many counties as I can along the way. I lived in Colorado for four years during college and haven't been back to the area for 10 years. I had kind of forgotten how great western Colorado is. I need to come back here more often. Today I traveled from Estes Park down to the base of Mt. Democrat where I camped at nearly 12,000 ft. Thanks for the cache.

We're back! Recently got a Subaru Outback and knew that Kite Lake was one of the first roads we wanted to drive on after having to turn back many times in the past due to lack of 4WD. Road was in good shape and presented no problems at all, even for our son's Accord. Stopped by here on our way back out, much easier to find without snow around. TFTC

Took the day off from skiing to bum around one of our favorite areas, this is at least our 6th or 7th visit to Buckskin Gulch (and we're from Chicago). Looked around for a few minutes before giving up, we figured it was probably still buried under the snow. Hopefully we will be able to return this summer, this would be a lovely spot for camping.
