Recommended for kids  Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Not Wheelchair accessible  Parking available  Short hike (less than 1km)

Park on the north side of the road near the information sign. There is a trail here to start you out, but you'll have to figure out your best track up the slope. Great views!  Be careful during hunting season, although this is close enough to the road there should not be a problem.

As we were going over the pass, we thought it appropriate to stop at the Ute Pass cache. My wife was still a bit tired from the walk to the Williams Peak Trail cache, so my daughter and I walked to this cache without her. We venture off the trail to climb the steep slope toward the cache. When we got near the top, we found a trail and wondered if it was the same one on which we had started. We continued to the cache and found it fairly easily. We made a direct route back down the slope to the trail at the bottom and then back up to the car. TFTC SL, Aiken, SC (3650)

I just love the Gore Range! Picked up the trackable and left a carabiner keychain. Lots of ants! I stood too long taking a picture and got ants all over! Had to sneak behind the tree and check myself out!

TFTC, SL We were following the footsteps of Youkfish who found the 5 caches yesterday, 2 at Ute pass & 3 at Acorn creek. We hiked from Ute Pass to Acorn Creek about 25 years ago. This time we drove between the two! Was a little steep for a old guy but I made it!
