I picked up this nice cache today while on a secret mission on Rampart Range Road. I didn't know there was a "park" here, and really couldn't tell the difference between it and the rest of the Pike National Forest. Regardless, I enjoyed the terrain here and the hunt. The cache is in great shape, nice stencil job. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

Snowshoed down from the Rampart Range Rd. & was making the loop around the park working on finding caches in 12-16" of snow. This one was certainly a challenge. We used our poles to poke & prod until my husband thought he had struck something metal so he dug (we didn't have a shovel-big mistake!) with his hands until he felt a handle. It was frozen in place pretty hard but fortunately he was able to force it free. Then an even bigger challenge-getting it open as it was frozen shut. I think he hurt his hand when it finally popped open. I picked up the TB since I can't imagine anyone else will be around in the near future. Although it was a great time to be down here as we were definitely alone.
