Take the middle creek road out of Pitkin. It is about six miles out of town. This road can be done with any car or truck. At the posted trail head your will be up for a hike or difficult ATV ride. The trail crosses the creek a few times so be prepared for wet feet. After you find the cache continue up the trail and end up near the top of the Alpine Tunnel Road.

TFTC. Caching with SoldierGrrrl. Geo-dog and I really enjoyed the walk out here. Very peaceful in the late afternoon in late fall. Very neat location.

TFTC, found this on a gorgeous caching day with CB_Beauty. Today was a caching history day, as we found Roosevelt Mine and 10 Stamp Mill, plus this one. I am always amazed as these old mining buildings are still standing. We had a fun time walking all around at these homes. Our walk up was fairly uneventful, as water levels were down and we were able to navigate the creek on the logs there. Very interesting to see the old bridges used by the stagecoaches. Thank you for bringing me here as I would have never found this place without caching. TN, left toy Soldier.

Earned our stars by hiking straight down the hill from the Tunnel Road 0.2 miles above. Fun to explore the old cabins.
