We were lucky to get this far up on Hermit Rd. The snow and mud was getting very heavy beyond this point. Like usual, we bushwhacked straight up to the cache and found a much better route on the way back. The container was pretty much ruined. Luckily, we had a replacement container with us. It is a slightly bigger, camouflaged metal tin. We left some new swag and a TB to entice more cachers to come up here. The views at the site were awesome. Tftc.
Just over there!

Nice overlook. Looks like something was trying to snack on the container. Tftc

The Badd One, checked out the area for a future ascent of Rito Alto Peak, had already used up his allotment of replacement containers. He wondered whether he should hike up from 9200 feet for what easily might be gone. He also noticed that the GPS was pointing away from the Hermit Pass Road.
In for a dime, in for a dollar, he quipped. He decides to bushwhack up hill when he is about .1l miles from the cache. He gets up and there is an ATV zooming around nearby. He could have gone up the Rainbow Trail to get within 200 feet but didn't. He huffed along the ridge and got to the area. Lo and Behold, the cache was still there and in good shape despite no one touching it for two years plus. Thanks for the cache**#3742.
The Badd One, noting threatening weather, is in a hurry to get down. Soon after he reaches the Hermit Pass Road (which had a lot of traffic) someone in a truck asks him how far to the lake. The Badd One reaches for his GPS and it isn't there. So he hitches a ride back to the Rainbow Trail junction and has to refind the cache without a GPS. Fortunately, there is a GPS next to the cache. Thus, it gets found twice in one day after being lonely for more than two years.
