BROWNSPASS 02-SEP-07 9:17:34PM ELEV.11405

RocketMan and I decided that we hadn't had enough 4 wheelin today so we set out to get in trouble, errr, I mean have an adventure at night with the Jeeps.
Once out there, we decided to set out a cache near the top of the pass.
This road can be a bit of a challenge in places but is do-able with a stock SUV with some clearance. Be careful that the road will get narrow in some spots. If you want to ad some extra challenge, do it at night. Road 176 will connect with road 175 and can take you back to the hiway.
Have fun finding this cache. It is a decon container that has a log only but can fit small items including TB/coin's. Please do not place TB/coins when there is a chance that the cache will be snowed in for winter. Please bring your own pen/pencil to log the cache.

Drove Breakneck and Browns passes today in our jeep with some muggle friends who were in their jeep. Rocky road and steep in some places, but no problem for the jeeps. Since we were with muggles, this is the only cache we snagged today and only because we stopped here for lunch. Actually, our muggle friend found the cache. Smile We dubbed him CA Silver Rubicon. Maybe someday we'll convince him to sign up for geocaching and let us stop at more caches along the jeep trails. Cool SL T4TSmile

Yes, we made it! After failing to negotiate the steep curve with the tall rocks on the way here from Breakneck Pass we decided to attempt it from CR 20. It was touch & go in one particular spot that had a tall rock near the middle of the road & we lost traction trying to get around it. We just about quit but my huggle took one more try and it seemed easy getting past it that time. The rest of the route was steep with plenty of loose rock & very narrow. We knew if we stopped it would be tough getting going again. If you use an SUV it needs to have plenty of clearance. We borrowed a slightly lifted Montero with larger tires and just barely made it from this direction. Oh yea, and we found this cache!

Wow...we had a blast in Colorado. Now we know what all the hoopla is about! We have to come back!

Our first Jeeping trip to Colorado and we had such a great time. Loved all the wildflowers and all the trails!

Thanks for adding caches to our fun!

You two characters should do this trail in the daytime..........it's really pretty up here.
Missed seeing you Keith while we were here............maybe in Moab?? Had lots of fun with Rocketman on Sunday after the event @ the Breckenridge brewery in Littleton. All is well with the cache.
Thanks!!!

Out riding the 4x4 trails in our Jeep. Love it when we can do our 2 favorite things - jeeping and geocaching. The trail has several trees down, but we squeezed by in our modified Jeep Rubicons. Cache contents were a little wet, repacked as best we could. tftc

Really enjoyed the ride up to this cache as I was testing the Jeep since I had just replaced all the coil springs. did well and we found the cache to boot. TFTC Wonder how you got the high-centered Jeep off the rock (the one included in the cache description)

I had a great time wheeling today. I drove up from the West and was surprised by to find the hill was rougher than any part of the trail yet. It was good fun. Grabbed the cache and headed down the East side. TFTC!
