Accessible by passenger vehicle on dirt road, but a bit off the beaten track near the historic Bachelor Loop of Creede, Colorado. You won't have to hike long to find this one, but will need to look closely at all of the hidden possibilities in the area! If you travel along the historic Bachelor loop, stop and park at the remains of the Park Regent Mine (stop #11 listed in the tour guide). You won't need to climb around much, but will have to explore around the grassy areas surrounding the mine ruins. Please stay out of the mine ruins themselves - that used to be a 2000 foot hole, and is filled in with debris, including rotting boards with nails, easy to step on! You can get to this site year round, but may need 4wd in the winter as it is typically snow packed, and will be difficult to find the cache if snow is above 1-2 ft deep. The cache itself is in a clear plastic container, and contains a log book, pen and pencil, roadrunner, compass, wolf postcard, golf ball, eagle pin and NM state pin. We hope you enjoy the trek around a beautiful spot, slowly recovering from the silver rush of the 1890s!
