4th Annual Colorado 64 County Finishers Event

Join the GCCO Board in Lake County as we ponder the often asked muggle question “you drove HOW far to do WHAT???”

We will provide light refreshments and you are invited to bring something to share if you wish (obviously not a requirement).  We will have water but bring your own choice of beverage if you prefer other soft drinks.

Also, bring your knowledge of Colorado.

We will have GCCO coins for sale (I think as far back as 2018), and maybe a door prize or two.

You do not need to have cached in all the Colorado counties to attend the event.  Everyone is welcome!

There are 64 counties in Colorado. Have you found a cache in each and every one of them? Have you signed the “extremely-hard-to-get-to” challenge cache?

This 5D/5T cache is located at the top of Imogene Pass between Ouray and Telluride in the San Jan Mountains. To date 16 finishers have signed the official log and completed the challenge.

More Details about the Event

Event Time 10:00am to 11:30am in the Pavillion at Leadville National Fish Hatchery, 2846 Hwy 300. Leadville CO 80461.

As well as the hatchery with all its information signs, there is a short nature hike around the grounds and a playground area.

Cell coverage can be spotty in the mountains, so if you plan to geocache while in the area, remember to download an offline list before you leave home.

********************************************************

*GCCO would also like to recognize the geocachers, together with Moudou2 the CO, who completed the Challenge and signed the original log for GCXGWT Mondo's Colorado 64 Challenge which was active between 8/20/06 to 5/16/21.

In the area for a 2-Mile High holiday weekend and attending this event. Enjoyed some great salsa and Jolly Rancher candies while on break from a fun, new AL. Met some new friends and enjoyed the beautiful location! Thanks for hosting. Cheers!

The fish hatchery is a really interesting spot. We sat outside in the shade of a few trees and enjoyed some glorious weather. Thanks to everyone who came along. Congrats to the coin (etc) winners and I hope you all enjoyed your time up in Lake County.
