Headed up into the mountains today to enjoy the last bits of summer and see if the leaves are starting to turn. (They are!) Nocogirl joined me today, a new cacher who likes to hike! I had a plan for the day but wound up making a wrong turn. But it made no difference to us as there were caches this way, too. Nocogirl spotted this one and I was surprised to see it hadn't been found in 2 years. The cache is in great shape. Thanks for the smiley! Find #2768.

The coords are a bit off here. Trust your geocache senses. Tftc.

I looked close to GZ & I was afraid it was gone because there were some potential good hiding spots that were empty, but then I read the hint & some of the logs that took me on the other side of the trail & I found it right away. It is much closer to the trail than 30 yards that's for sure. I took the coin.

A local resident stopped us as we were searching and said to be on the alert because only last week a mountain lion killed an animal at that trailhead. A few minutes later, another car stopped us to ask directions. We only searched for about 10 minutes so I have to assumed this is a popular place. Our GPS was a bit off, but our geosense prevailed. I left a trackable coin with the hope that a responsible cacher would be viewing the fall colors soon and be able to move it along.
