Welcome to the Gunnison National Forest! To reach the cache, take Carbon Creek Rd (#737) into the NF. Once inside the NF boundary, stay left at the first fork in the rd along side Carbon Creek and the imposing Carbon Peak. You can park along side the dirt road when you get close to the cache, or you can park at the small parking area near the fork in the rd and walk the rest of the way in. These trails can get quite muddy sometimes! You are looking for a large protein powder container wrapped in black duct tape. Please replace the "door" after making the find!
PLENTY of room for swag and TBs! Original contents include some nice items for intrepid cachers!!
These roads are closed to vehicles during winter, but if you're feeling like some snow caching you can still find your way in on skis or snow mobile. Watch for cows and cow pies during summer and fall!
For a more difficult smiley, venture deeper along these trails, starting by going right instead of left at the fork in the rd, to find my other cache along this trail system, Raylan's Red Mountain Rodeo Roundup, GC9GZ5N.
Happy Caching!!
