Leroux Creek Series #3- The Money Pit

***PLEASE SEE LEROUX CREEK SERIES #1 FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

The third cache in this series is located near “the mansion” as locals call it. I can’t recall when construction began on the house, but it was never finished and sat vacant for a number of years. It was rumored that the entire place leaked because the roof was never finished, the house was never sided and some windows and doors were never installed. It also was not animal-proof and many a critter made their home inside. As of the posting of this cache (August 2015) new owners had purchased the property and were working to complete the house. It was estimated that it would cost at least $1.5 million to complete JUST the inside. Take a gander and image how it will look when finished.

There should be enough parking on the side of the road and wait for any cars to pass before hunting.

Well, the money pit looks pretty nice from afar, lots of stickers on those brand new windows, and everything looks fresh. As for the cache, there appears to be a lot of recent trimming in the area. I was afraid that the cache might be gone but it was still there among all the piles, safe and sound. Woo-Hoo.

This series has been on my "got to find" list since last fall. Got a few of these today and will return this summer/fall to find the rest. Great series for both the challenge and the history/information. Thanks for creating and maintaining this series.
