A companion to Mondo's Lost Cache (GCX9FV).
This cache is a large mixed peanuts jar camoed but should not be hard to find. Terrain and difficulty ratings are only because a high clearance vehicle and 4WD is strongly recommended. The terrain at the cache site is only 1.5/2.0 in the summer months and you can park within 300 feet from the cache. From the pullout nearest to the cache terrain is mostly level with downed trees as the only obstacles.

I have been wanting to get up here for a long time. When I decided to go to the GCCO campout this year this was a perfect way to have some fun on the way. Happily Kerewin0430 was able to got along and share the adventure. When I made the list I stuck to ones close to the road since I didn't know how long the drive would take. I'm glad she took a closer look at this one. No cache should be lonely that long. TFTC

WingsAndTales invited me to do some caching on the way to the campout, so I happily took the day off, not fully knowing just how great this day was going to end up being! With nerves of steel, she got us most of the way to the lake...all I had to do was take a little walk and enjoy the crisp mountain air. :-) This was actually a bonus cache for us...just far enough off the route that it hadn't popped up on the query, but as we walked by and saw that it was only 0.1 miles away and 5 years lonely(!!), we decided it shouldn't stay lonely anymore! This is one where "real GPS" coordinates were much more accurate than the phone. There's a decoy a few feet away which fooled us at first, but the real cache materialized quickly. Thank you for placing this one!

Hiked through the fallen trees and some patches of snow to find this one. I went in circles for about 15 minutes then finally found it where my GPS said it shouldn't be. Yes, the log was frozen solid even though it is in a ziploc bag. I left my own piece of paper with my log on it. It will probably eventually freeze too once the log thaws out.

Found this while attending the Mountain Chillin 4x4 event with crumbcrunchers and appleiphone6. Gorgeous area for a cache that I would otherwise not have a chance of getting. TFTC for sure!

Like everyone said, the log is FROZEN! I took pictures of the log book and the cache itself to prove we were there...but something tells me that mondou will understand regardless!
