This is an easy find cache, with a little effort. Elevation is 11,200'. Distance from the trailhead is 2 miles. Very easy hiking with less than 200 feet elevation gain. Easy drive for any vehicle to the trailhead which is located at the end of the Little Cimmaron Creek road, about 20 miles south of hiway 50.
The Fall Creek Valley is beautiful and well worth the pleasant 2 mile hike. Water is available along most of the trail (Firebox Creek) but recommend it be treated before drinking. Cache container is clear plastic bottle with blue lid. Contains log, pencil, and a few odds and ends. Enjoy!

Looked this cache up prior to hiking the Fall Creek Trail and saw that it was probably missing... so I took a new container along and replaced it after we could not find the original. The new container is a small green bottle. Beautiful area!

This an incredibly beautiful area and well worth the hike. However, I didn't find the cache and since it is listed as an "easy find" I don't believe that it is there anymore. There was one fairly large rock and two smaller ones in the vicinity but I didn't locate the cache on or around them. Everything else in the immediate area is soft dirt mostly covered with grass. I don't believe that an "easy find" cache could be placed in the surrounding grass.

What a beautiful hike to this cache site. The parking lot was full.....horses, llama's, 5th wheel and people. I thought this would be a very noisy hike but once I got started I never saw or heard another person. What a treat!! The camp robber birds were just sure I was going to share my snacks with them, a squirrel scolded me for some reason and a couple of whistle pigs stood up on their hind legs and watched me pass them. What a great hike. I took this really good picture of the long meadow with the fall colors and the snow capped mountains in the back ground that I will try (and that is the key word) to download once I get home. Sat at the cache site and ate my lunch and just enjoyed the beauty and solitude. Then I walked off to the left of the cache towards the big grey cliffs to see if I could see the waterfall but I was too chicken to get close enough to the edge to look over. Sure is BIG country. Cache was a bit damp so let everything dry while I ate then signed log and put it all back. What a wonderful treat this cache was. Maybe the time of the year helped with all the fall colors and snow but whatever I really enjoyed it.

Well, once again, Geocaching in the dark with Cacheclique!! This was a great adventure considering we didn't really know if the cache would be there or not after so long. We kind of got a late start and began our hike at about 6:45 and a mile into it it was dark. We have a habit of that I guess. I have to say I was relieved that the cache was actually there!!! There was snow on the beginning 1/4 mile of the trail and some very "mushy" areas but the last mile was very pleasant. I'm sure that valley is beautiful in the daylight!! This one might soon be hibernating. We saw Deer and Elk along the road and a Porcupine in a tree on the way back that my dog was a little too interested in for comfort. Smile I would love to come back and explore this area better. Thank you for getting me up there. The odds n ends were missing so left 2 highlighters, lg. bobber and chapstick in a sealed pkg.

Inspected the cache location and found the container to be missing. Replaced the container in the fall of 2005.

After confirming the suspected cache location with the owner it appears that this cache has been muggled, perhaps by the residents, and is no longer available. The easy high mountain hike is still there however.

Spent some time and was unable to locate. Suspect that it has been moved.

This is one of the most beautiful areas we have hiked to. Encountered no problems getting to the cache. Weather was great - mosquitoes were semi-hungry when the breeze quit. The water in the creek tastes wonderful! Thanks for a GREAT day!
