Note: Original cache went missing. Cache is now a small water bottle.

This is a LOG ONLY cache that is a decon container with a logbook and pencils. You can drive the family sedan within 1 mile of the cache, closer if you have a 4WD. This cache is located on a dyke formation called Chimney Rocks. It can be seen from Forest Road 265 at approximate location N39 08.24 W107 35.42. The best way to get to the cache is to follow the power line from the north or south of the dyke until you reach the top of the ridge. From the top of the ridge there is a trail along the south side of the dyke heading west. BE CAREFUL as the north side of the dike is a HIGH vertical face. There is no need to get close to the edge to find the cache. It is well worth walking further west from the cache to see the rest of the dyke formation. Please rehide the cache well under the rock.

Congratulations to Grand Junction Dad for the FTF

No ATV today so I made the hike on foot. No luck finding it and no cell service for clues or past activity. May have to come back at some point.

Hiked from the south after parking just off the road to Overland Reservoir where we were camped. The wildflowers were amazing and the views along the way and from the cache location were great. Brought water scandals along for the creek crossing but really could have done the whole hike in them - pretty muddy feet afterwards though.
The cache was sitting out in the open and the last two signers in 2015 were probably muggles. Tucked it under the nearby oak shrub and put some rocks on top. Hauled out broken plastic bottle that was the cache at some point. It is now a small plastic container with a blue lid. Not very hardy.
Thanks ColoradoBob for bringing us to such a great location. A very fun outing.

Great day to be caching in the area. Went almost 30 miles on the quad runner today. The fall colors were spectacular! We don't think we took the easiest approach to cache. The quad trail got super steep, so we parked it about 500 feet from GZ and hiked up. Very steep! Once there, saw a much nicer route on the other side. Views were great! SL TNLN TFTC
On the way up!

Well didn't read the approach correctly and went straight up through the forest to the base, oops! once we got turned around and on top, quick find! Cache was in great shape! TFTC! View was gorgeous!

Easily found. So obvious that a lot of muggles had signed the register! We tried to make it less easy to spot. TNLN. SL. Great day for a short hike from the main road. Great view! T4TC!
