This is the 40th in my series of Trail Mix caches all made out of Trail Mix jars. It is hidden in an interesting location just off of the Saddleback Mountain Trail.
There is a nice choice of loops along the way that you can use to find this and the other caches in this area. From the trailhead it's a climb of more than 800 feet which is pretty steep for a one mile hike to the top. I hiked the steeper route up and the less steep route back down - it was easier on the knees that way. When this cache was placed there were three other caches on the mountain and I found two of them. I hid this one along with a buddy cache called Gilligan.
There are some good views along the way and I enjoyed them all by myself. Although there was another car parked at the trailhead, I did not see anyone else on the entire hike.
Note that there is a significant drop off near the cache but there is no climbing involved.
There is only room for 2 or 3 cars here.
