Beautiful views of the Cumbres Toltec Train as it passes through cabin community in Cumbres Pass.  Train may stop to steam up.
This journey is a short walk off of Highway 17 in Cumbres Pass, Colorado (10,000 feet above sea level).  Park along side the road at around 11:00 a.m and you can enjoy the beauty of the Cumbres and Toltec train as it passes the small cabin community.  The ideal time to explore would be the Fall so you can enjoy the stunning colors, although all seasons bring its own beauty.  Cache has been placed 8 feet above the ground (in case the snow is deep during the wintertime). Cache contains travel bug RNHCTF, flashlight, carry belt clip, sunglasses, tent stakes, railroad stake, lanyard, can opener, pedometer, glass case, cellular phone case, pen, pencil, and a note pad for logging your find.

Watched a large herd of cattle being driven up the highway going north out of the valley. The hike down to the cache was a bit challenging for older folks, like us, but we made it. The cache is definitely NOT off the ground, but the hind is spot on. TFTC.

Really worked for this one. Without my walking stick I have to be real careful. Got down, went too far, had to find a break in the fence...then it was easy. Took painted rock. Left dillo charm. TFTC !
