A cache close to Blue Lake, off Scenic Highway of Legends, Highway 12, Cuchara, Co
We love fishing at Blue Lake and often catch trout here! Off Highway 12 is about a 5 mile drive into the mountains to Blue Lake. Nice parking lot, with a beautiful little lake.

This cache is a small hike up the hill to the left of the parking area. Park then just past the gates is a trail to the left. Follow it up to a large rock that looks like Pride Rock from "The Lion King". Kids love to sit here and play! The cache is hidden close to this rock. No need to dig.

You are looking for a plastic cache box with room for trade items, and a log. This is bear country, so keep a lookout, and use common sense. Do not put anything in the cache that has an odor, bears will tear apart anything that smells like food.

This road is closed seasonally due to snow pack. It is a summer cache! Enjoy the scenery! It is rated a 3.0 on the terrain because there are several ways to scramble up here, the hardest is from a little bridge that leads to the lake, very rocky but my kids favorite!

This is a pay for parking area, unless you have already paid to camp. Please make sure to pay to support the forest service and all the good they do (road grading, stocking the lake, maintaining campgrounds, fishing areas and much much more). The pay brown pole is clearly marked. Thanks!

Make sure to hide BETTER than you found it using natural cammo!
Congrats to Me & Bucky for FTF!

We stopped by to look for this cache while road tripping from Chaska, Minnesota. It was quite a drive up the mountain, and a bit chilly too, but we are hardy Minnesotans. Smile Left a TB for the next finder to move further along. Thanks!
