This cache can be reached by 4 wheel drive or a long hike. Available ONLY before the snow flies. Use county road 398/Lost Canyon Rd.
Beautiful drive through the mountains to reach the cache. Can be found until the snow flies, then out of order until spring!

The cache was replaced and moved to a new location on 10/13/2015. The cache is on a steep slope but can be reached safely with care. Use the spoiler photo.

Had a nice trip up to this cache - the weather was fine and there were quite a few cyclists on the road, probably training for the Leadville race. Great views - thanks for bringing me up here (and adopting the cache to keep it active!)

I had some time after hiking La Plata Peak today and made the drive up to this cache. My GPS took me right to the location of the hint but there was no ammo can. I spent quite a bit of time searching the area and expanded the search beyond GZ just in case with no luck. This is a beautiful location and well worth the trip. I decided to leave a replacement container since I know it will start snowing up here soon. It is a pill container that is a little bigger than a chap stick tube and it's exactly where the hint indicates. I'll send a separate email to the CO too. TFTC
