Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (now that's a LONG name!) was a British politician, army officer, writer, and government official. As Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Churchill led Britain to victory in the Second World War. He lived 91 years from 1874 to 1965.

Here is one of his famous quotations:

"A good speech should be like a woman's skirt: long enough to cover the subject and short enough to create interest."

Widely considered one of the 20th century's most significant figures, Churchill remains popular in the UK and the Western world. He was a wartime leader who played an important role in defending democracy from the spread of fascism

Winston held many positions during his time, including:

Soldier in the British Army, War correspondent, Member of Parliament, President of Board of Trade, Home Secretary, First Lord of the Admiralty, Minister of Munitions, Secretary of State for War, Secretary of State for Air, Secretary of State for the Colonies, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Prime Minister.

This cache is in his honor and recognition.

The path to the cache is only 1/4 mile through woods with little elevation gain. However, the trail goes from the Lily Lake parking area to one part of the Crag's Climbing area. If you continue to the climbing area, expect very steep hard hiking and rock scrambling to get there!

Drove up the road, but couldn’t find a good spot to stop in the snow. Hoofed it all the way from the trailhead following rabbit tracks, and found the snowed in cache. TFTC

Too snowy to be sure you're on the trail. Will try again after some more snowmelt. BTW - This trail begins by the Park Service boundary, so NO DOGS! The rangers love writing dog-in-backcountry tickets in these parts.

FTF @ 11:29 AM. Had my eye on this one since it was published. After 3 FTFs in the Denver are this morning, I decided to make a run for this one too. Way points were helpful, and I quickly found the cache. Did my happy dance when I saw the clean log. Love this type of hide! Giving it a favorite point. TFTC
