A nice hike on a beautiful late fall day. Only had to stop and catch my breath 5 times! TNLN, SL and TFTC! Oh, BTW, I noticed on my way out that a sign for the Basalt Wildlife area says we're supposed to have a stamp to access this are.

I figured it was about time to go out and look for this lonely cache, only thing is, I found out that it hasn't been as lonely as I had thought! I got to GZ and found the cache pretty easy, as it is very noticeable from the trail. When I opened the logbook, I found that it had been signed by a powerline worker back in April. He said that he just stumbled across it while checking the poles. There was another name on the log from Sept. 2013. Looked like two first names. Maybe geocachers, maybe just hikers???? can't imagine geocachers not logging an FTF in over a year. You never know though! So, not sure if I'm the first official geocacher (FTF) or not. I guess it really doesn't matter. I couldn't have asked for a better day to come up here! The view of Sopris was awesome!!! The caches is nicely done too. It should be able to handle any weather that gets thrown at it! TFTC! Had a great morning up there!BigSmileBigSmile

Got an email from the CO letting me know that I wasBigSmile FTF!!!BigSmile and that the other names on the log were family members that the CO took up there. Thanks againlandjwilson!
