From the time when kids had to walk uphill both ways in a blizzard to get to school. The Yuma County Historical Society has set out to locate and mark as many old schools as possible

Star also know as Shumaker School was formed in 1887 when the area was Washington County

The district was dissolved in 1950 Part of it went to Wray and part of it went to Laird

We are heading north on a 3 week road trip to Lead, S.D. the first week. We have watched these FTFs for weeks so these are our targeted caches today. If we have time, we will get others along the way. This will be a long day today but hopefully a good day. Thanks for placing these caches for us to enjoy and for our {FTF} addiction!
