Not Recommended for kids  Scenic view  Significant hike  Difficult climbing  Available at all times  Available during winter  Cliff / falling rocks  Dangerous area  Not Stroller accessible

This cache is located exactly halfway between the Blodgett Peak summit and the WWII Plane Crash site.

This cache was placed while on a really fun hike with Kerewin0430.  Many names were thought of along the way, but this one was probably the best.  A play on words of the famous Beatles song Strawberry Fields Forever.  She came up with this as we dined all afternoon on wild raspberries everywhere!  So yummy and perfectly ripe!  If you time your climb to late July or early August you too can enjoy some of these wonderful treats!

A close second name was Hartsdale Bait!  Lol!  For obvious reasons.

The location itself was chosen as the mid point between two great caches, but what really is highlighted here is the amazing texture of the wood that has been burned then cleansed by the weather.  Take some time to look at this tree and others like it in the area.  Out of the horrible fire you can still find beauty.  This is a great example of that.

The hide itself is pretty boring, just a hanging bison tube, hard to miss, but adds one more stop along this route.

Hmmmm, I wonder if it is still there? We couldn't find any container hanging on the tree. We looked on the ground too thinking that perhaps if fell off. No luck today.

I headed up this way to pick up a few caches I had yet to find. This one is very appropriately named. Even this late in August I was able to have a raspberry snack! Thanks tp RPieperCO for placing it! I enjoyed the scenery, both close up and far away!

We needed 2 more D/T combinations to finish our Double Fizzy, and both caches were hidden on the slopes north of Blodgett Peak. So we started our hike up Blodgett Trail early this morning to beat the heat and afternoon thunderstorms. The trails were really washed out from recent rains and we lost the trail a couple of times, but we eventually reached the saddle and started our hike down to the cache. Lots of raspberries all the way to the cache! We made a quick find using the hint provided. We signed the log and enjoyed the breathtaking views. Now on to the airplane crash site and our final cache for the day! Thanks for the fun cache.

Wow! The raspberries were everywhere, so nice to see some good come out from the ashes! I had to try a few, but wanted to be sure the birds and the bears had their fair share. The route down from Blodgett was nice, with some cairns to make the way. It is possible to use rocks as stepping stones and makes for easier hiking than the lousy trail leading up to the saddle. The cache was an easy find thanks to excellent coords, but the paper felt a little damp so I aired it out a bit.

There were some really neat plants in the area, I think Aletes and some alumroot. Alas, there were also some invasives, such as Dalmation toadflax and mullein that likely were contaminates in the seed mix they usually drop after big fires.

I was convinced we took the wrong route - parking on 302 and following the same track past K Trackers Middle Finger and the 66 Million Dollar View. It's really not necessary to follow the rocky ridge up and down, unless you want to earn that 5-star terrain rating :-) We both agreed that the return route was much easier and I'm sure that ernie66 saved that track. Too early for the raspberries, but I kept accumulating thorns - possibly from wild rose bushes. Incredible views! Thanks, RPieperCO for another adventure and some much needed exercise.

Great hike today with estes01. We have thought about going on to this cache on a couple of recent caching hikes, but it always seemed just too much. Today we started on Rd 302 and followed a familiar route most of the way as we enjoyed good weather. Heading back, we decided to try a shortcut - much, much better! TFTC!

Since we had already hiked to the plane crash we went on up to find this newer one too. Thanks for making our hike more fun.
