Scenic view  Difficult climbing  Cliff / falling rocks  Medium hike (1km-10km)

I was going to call this cache "On the Ridgeline" until I was at the neighbor's house high on the hill (look out to the east from the cache vantage point and spot the highest house on the hill across from you) and discovered that it was actually not the top of the ridgeline but just below it, thus the name change. That being said, after you make the climb to find this cache, you will feel you are on the ridgeline!

FTF prize is $5. Cache is a green and brown duck-taped Altoids container w/log, pencil, and several small plastic animals for trade items. I placed this cache, along with Del Norte View, near an exceptionally unique cache by Fire and Ice Cachers called "Enchanted", so that more cachers will head up Bear Creek Rd, where there are now 3 caches with the addition of this one. Speaking of Del Norte View, you can use the waypoint from that cache along Bear Creek Rd. to begin your summit for this one. Strike off up to the right of the Palisades mid-way up then head up to the top by turning back left up the east face keeping to the right of the rocks is my best suggestion. This is a steep climb and there is no trail - but a beautiful view once you're up top!

My 81-year-old dad and I hiked up to this one. We tried to take advice to start off to the right (north), then swing back to the left, but we either didn't go far enough north or we cut back south too soon. As a result we pretty much turned this one into a 4.5 terrain. Dad was still in his running shoes after running his daily 5k, and I was only in my second day at altitude, so it was quite an adventure. The generous hint was much appreciated in our winded state. Coming back down, we decided that we would climb towards a waypoint at N 37 42.647 W 106 37.606, then hike across this top, if we ever did this one again.

Thanks, TXERNURSE, for a great hike!

All is well - cache is nice and dry! Left pretty pink rocks.

I don't think this is a winter type cache. The road was open so we proceeded. After finding the Del Norte view, we were feeling pretty lucky, so we proceeded to climb the mountain - on foot - in 5 inches of fresh snow. We wore ourselves out pretty good and then couldn't find the cache. The hint didn't help since everything was covered in snow and hid the usual type of clues. Great view though.
