This cache is placed just off the parking area at Black Forest Regional Park. It is a camo'd lock container. It has a logbook, pen and some SWAG (mostly hot wheels cars). There is a "gold" one dollar coin for the FTF. It is in a heavily muggler areas, so be careful. It is meant to be easy to get to and family friendly.
We placed this cache after our first hike through the forest, just over one year after the Black Forest Fire. It is amazing to see the new growth in the area. There are tons of wildflowers and greenery everywhere. New pine trees are popping up below the charred remains of the original trees.

The Black Forest Fire started in the early afternoon of June 11, 2013. Before the fire was contained, it burned 14,280 acres, destroying 486 homes. It is now listed as the most destructive fire in the state's history.

This cache is dedicated to the emergency personnel that once again descended on Colorado Springs to fight the fires and to all the residents that endured.

As you hike though the park, take in the incredible recovery of the land. Wildflowers are abundant along the paths. Their colors contrast deeply against the charred landscape.

Congratulations to OF-Erad for the FTF!!

 Hints

Under the remains of a tree stump, I guess you would call it. Be careful of the sticker brush that is growing around it. Also note the NEW coords as posted in the description: N39 00.781. W104 44.260

You have to use new coords or you won't find it about 100' from published coords. Traded swag and dropped off a travel bug wanting to go to England. Can't help as I'm going the other way. First cache for 3 yr old grandson, Trenton. He loves the game (what he really loves is digging thru the swag). TFTC.
