Significant hike  Medium hike (1km-10km)

This is the second cache we placed along one of our favorite trails (Chief Mountain).  We picked this particular spot for a cache because if you turn around and get your head out of the pine tree branches, you will see an amazing view.  It's a "big bang for you buck" in terms of the length of the hike and the view you get.  The cache is located near the spot when you pop through the trees and get to see those mountains in the distance for the first time on the hike.  It is stocked with some goodies for kids and adults.  It also has an activated birthday geocoin trackable since one of our birthdays is this month.  Enjoy!

 Hints

This cache is on the right side of the trail if you are heading up the mountain & is down low in a stand of pine trees that has about 5 mid-size pines and 2-3 smaller ones.  It isn't very far off the trail.

What a lovely, well-stocked cache! Reminds me of the “good old” early days of geocaching!! THANKS for your generosity and for bringing the smiles back to the treasure hunt. Even though the swag is not really the point, it’s still so much more exciting to find a real “treasure box” vs a broken Tupperware full of trash. Well done!

Found the other 3 Chief mountain caches without any problem. Despite the lower difficulty this one had me stumped. Stopped and searched for quite awhile on the way up, then tried again on the way down. Guess I'll have to come back.

What a lovely spot for a cache! And why do I always have to make it harder then it needs to be! Plenty of muggles interrupting my search here, just had some struggling Texans come through. Fortunately I waited then out and finally spotted the giant ammo can on my 4th pass around and through the trees! Stamped my name and set off to hopefully find your other one! Thanks for adding to the collection up here! TFTC!

Lots of muggles on this trail. Had to be careful finding it and logging.

[FTF] 08-07-2020 at 6:14 pm. We headed up the trail and once near the GZ we searched for landscape matching the hint. Im grateful for a good description in the land of bouncing coords. We arrived and quickly found the volumous cache. I traded SWAG and grabbed the TB (are you sure you want to release an actual coin?) then returned the container to its intended position.

What do I do after a long work day in Denver's 102 degree temperatures? I think its a good idea to head to the hills and take advantage of the temperature drop. As we passed the foothills we watched the Jeep's exterior thermometor sensor drop all the way down to a comfortable 72 degrees. Our geocaching day began on Chief Mountain. We saw comfortable, curious mountain squirrels, chipmunks, and we heard a few hummingbirds. Beautiful day in the mountains. Then we grabbed a few more on the way to Evergreen where we had Himalayan food and shared it with a mouse before heading back to Aurora for Sonic and then the comfort of a good night's sleep.
Thanks for the cache!

Just ensuring this birthday geocoin trackable is "dropped" in this geocache for someone to receive.
