This one is a one mile round stroll with about a 200’ elevation gain.
Happy Trails caches are a series of quick and easy caches to be grabbed on the way to other caches in the neighborhood. This one is a little ways past the Tranquil Cache and takes you up on top of the ridge. This is a log only cache in a 35mm camo’ed film can so bring your own pencil.
Best parking is at N38-58.926 W105-06.363. This trailhead is a south-east entry designated FS717A into the Signal Butte Multi-Use Trail System that extends from Woodland Park west to Lake George and north of Highway 24. It is a popular network for use by ATV’s and motorcycles and the reason for the extra star in rating terrain is the extra level of alertness you must give while sharing the path with the occasional aggressive rider.
The first and last third(s) of this outing is walking the path up and back down with a close view of “up” but once on the ridge top, the trail can be very inviting to go on a lot further.

Very quiet and peaceful here today. After the short (but steep) hike, we found the container. Thanks for showing us this place.

It was such a pleasant walk up here today. And nice placement. Thanks for another cache in this area.

I had a nice walk up the hill. This cache blended in with it's surroundings nicely.

10:35 AM Having completed our 64th Colorado county on 8/5, we are settling into a 2 week stay in Divide.

Today, my wife and I hiked 717A (and beyond), which starts just up the road from our favorite rental in Divide. I think we started at the suggested coordinates. This is the first cache we encountered. We then continue up FR308 before cutting across to rejoin 717A. We ended up intersecting Grouse Road and looping south and then walking CR25 back to the trailhead. Just over 8 miles in all.

Nice camo and a throw-back container. Enjoying the hike so far.

I signed the log below W&T and estes01 from last June. How cool is that? Thanks, team w-bar-v, for the cache.

We laughed about the container, but had to admit that it had survived where many others hadn't. TFTC.

We actually walked past this one while on the middle of a conversation but just by a few hundred feet. The 10 year old container is still going strong. The log has gotten a little wet in the past but it was dry today. TFTC
