The garden park school.
Originally built in 1816 around 1/4mi from the current school, the first school burnt down in 1891. In 1893 the current school was built by garden park residents, with for windows to let in light the building and one room and a partial basement for wood and coal stroage. Originally built out of adobe, it was covered in stucco in 1916 to add to the structural integrity of the building. In 1951, the school has an electrical line run to it, but it closed shortly afterwards in 1961. At one point in time, the entire class consisted of one family, my great grandfather and his siblings.
