07/27/2013 UPDATE. On the 10 year anniversary of this cache we finally got around to updating it. There is a new cache container (green ammunition box) stocked with some great cache including 5 survival bracelets. There were a total of 11 of us (Carson’s, Neumann’s & Rockwell’s ) who made the trek up to our old hideout to refresh the cache. Moving forward we hope people enjoy visiting our secret hideout.

It’s called We’ll be home after Church because my brothers and I would occasionally wake-up early on Sunday morning and leave a note for our parents that said “gone to the hills we’ll be home after Church”. We were always in trouble for skipping Church but it was worth all the fun we had with our friends hiking in the canyons around Wray, Colorado.

Access: You can start your trek for this cache from two different locations. Either Route is approximately one mile round trip. The hike might seem longer than that if it’s hot. Make sure to bring lots of water.
Easiest Access: Start at the Wray High School Football field and head south.
More Difficult Access: Take West 7th to Lincoln Street go south on Lincoln Street to Wesley Drive. Turn right on Wesley Drive and drive up the hill to the water tower.

About the Cache: The original Cache at this site is called BFD it’s not what you think but it will make sense once you see it if you are lucky enough to see the original cache. It’s sure to light up your day and brighten your smile. Logon to http://www.thecarsons.org/geocaching/cache.htm if you want to see some pictures and more information.

Went out with a couple of my granddaughters. This is one of my favorite caches because of the beautiful hike out to it. Lots of deer tracks!
The cache was nearly empty except for the log sheet and a couple of trinkets. Luckily we had taken about 5 items out with us that we left. There was also an unsavory message left of the log sheet that I scribbled over, but if someone gets the chance, it would be nice to have new log sheet. There was a little trash around the cache site. We hauled out most of it.
Thanks for the chance to go to this lovely site again and to be able to share it with the granddaughters!

Loved the little adventure in this cache. Must have great memories of this area. I was about to rain so we needed to move fast.
