The cache at this location is set for the moderate trail run crew for the
Mountain Mardi Gras and 4x4 Caching Adventure
who would like to try a bit more aggressive trail. This trail will (at the time the cache was set) have a couple of deep water crossings at the beginning as well as a tough, rocky and off camber finish before the cache. The final location is rewarded with a beautiful view of Cooney Lake as well as a mine excavation.

Sorry for the late log.

We had a great geocaching summer. It was our first trip to Colorado JEEPing and geocaching and we had so much fun. We found this on our way up and over Mosquito Pass..well the snow stopped us , but we still had a blast.

We had fun getting up to Cooney Lake, liked all of the water crossings to get here & the snow that was still around. The last little hill up to GZ was still covered in snow, so we put our CA Jeeps in it...of coarse!
Cache is fine, marmot wasn't home. Great spot for a cache/amazing views!
Thanks for the fun,
The Splashes w/the San Diego Crew

Out cruising the trails. Still in good shape. The coords were spot on!! Cache still in great shape. This cache is also well guarded by the local marmot. He was none to pleased with us invading his day. But, the cache is not in his home just probably to close for his/her comfort. The wind up here chills you to the bone, brrrr....TFTC!
