If this flume could talk... oh the stories! We've long stopped here on our rides just for a break on the Elkhorn Mine Road! Our 4-legged pals enjoy the fresh water and shade, and we usually have a snack or even a picnic lunch here!
I highly doubt you will have cell service in the area, so make sure you download the info in advance if you're using the app on your phone!
This cache will take a high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle. We prefer our side-by-side, but motorcycles, 4-wheelers, horse, or even hiking works also! The trail is a designated jeep trail, so if you've got the vehicle and experience, go for it!
The GPS definitely bounces around in this area, so we're giving you a pretty explicit hint. If you are on the Elkhorn Mine Road (the actual jeep trail), you can't miss the flume. The hint will take you right to the bison tube! We hid this one more for the fun of a break and an easy find on this long popular trail! There is another cache on this trail, at the actual Elkhorn Mine, so don't miss that one too!
I'm assuming that if you actually knew where the flume was, you could find this one in the winter -- on a snowmachine of course -- so I'm not going to say it can't be done, but I would definitely say this is probably a seasonal cache!
