HEART ATTACK

21-JUL-07 12:09:15PM N40 41.840 W105 28.818 7511 ft

On a beautiful Colorado Day, four “hearty” adventurers set out to try their hand at Heart Attack Hill. This cache will be hike or 4 wheel drive only.

RocketMan, aardvark56, Chris and I met up at 9:30 in Loveland and proceeded to our destination or fate. It all depends on how you look at it. We were defiantly headed for a “heart attack” and looking forward to it. Once we got to the top of heart attack hill, somebody said, “We should place a cache here.” Well ok then. Everybody started checking their supplies.

“I’ve got a decon container and a log book.”

“I have a Geocache sticker.”

“I have a Red Jeep Travel Bug.”

“Here is a coin.”

No pen or pencil unfortunately to fit the container so you as a fine trusty geocacher will have to use your own that we know you carry with you at all times. Please use your common sense (not like us) if you decide to have a go for this cache. We have witnessed people in trouble on this hill and it is no place to be unprepared. Look at the pictures and make your decision wisely.

Out with Salmon-629 having fun in the Jeeps. Made it through Heart Attack Hill and had to get this cache. It’s been over two years since the last find on this one. Everything looks great with this cache. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find!

Found on a beautiful day in the mountains with TRR. 2nd time I've run this trail and found the cache, but the 1st time I've logged it. 6 of our group of 8 went up Heart Attack. It's a challenging climb for sure. TFTC!

Out jeeping Kelly Flats with Team Red Rubicon and grabbing some caches along the way. Most of TRR went up Heart Attack Hill....I decided I didn't want a heart attack today, so I took the by-pass. Maybe someday I'll get my courage and confidence back and I'll take on that hill.

Happy New Year! What an absolutely gorgeous day to do some snowshoeing in the high country. The temperature was 10° when I left the truck and it was 20° when I returned in the afternoon. There wasn't a cloud within 20 miles and there was only an occasional wisp of breeze. I made the loop plus a few detours to get all the caches in the vicinity. Made the big loop hiking up Heart Attack Hill, then back down the by-pass trail. The snow added an extra degree of difficulty locating the containers along the way but I was successful on every one.

After getting Kai's 2.5/2.5 near the parking area I headed up Heart Attack hill. I reached GZ and the confidence level went down a notch. Man, there are a lot of potential places for a decon and the snow sure didn't help. After about 15 minutes of searching I struck gold! Signed the log and then headed to View?!...What View?. Thanks zoltig!

Out on a training hike with Cacheman48 and decided we couldn't do without a heart attack. After a long hike nearby, we decided it would be a good idea to grab the heart attack. Thanks for the life saving hike.

Out in the hills on a beautiful Colorado day. After doing some auxilary functions on Old Flowers Road, we came up here to kill some time, and this was nearby. The parking lot is 'Focus Friendly', but not much further than that. Good thing we had zoltig's Jeep with us :-)
