I've twice been in this general area with hopes of finding this one only to have been unable to get up here to GZ. This time, I made sure that I had everything organized properly and allowed plenty of time so that I could make the trip up here. I arrived at parking, paid my $7.00 day use fee and set off up the trail. I was happy to be on the trail after all the driving that I've been doing lately, although I definitely felt the effects of all of that as I hiked up the hill. It was cold and trying to rain, but I had a great time and things cleared up nicely at the top so that I could enjoy the great view. Thanks for keeping this oldie going!

Took some bugs and left some bugs.

What a journey.
I first learned about "GC19-Geocache" about 5 years ago. It has been high on my radar ever since. Due to some unexpected occurrences on the 686 mile trip we didn't reach the trail head until 9:00 pm Colorado time.
Needless to say it was pitch black and we had nothing more than the lights on our cell phones. Making the 1.2 mile hike (round trip) through the the black forest seemed daunting at times. As a kid we spent a lot of time Camping, Hunting and Fishing so I'd like to say I am pretty comfortable in the wilderness.
However when you happen to notice all the watch out for bear signs and hear large branches snapping less than 50 feet away it can get a little unnerving.
I have to say even at night the scenery was amazing with breathtaking panoramic views.
I'm really starting to get a feel for what Geocaching was about back in the day.
These caches are old for a reason. All the oldies that I have found have required a bit of a journey to get to and usually lead to some amazing place. I definitely appreciate these type of caches. My numbers game is over now. I could care less about how many finds I have.
As long as I have two legs to take me, I will continue to seek out caches of this caliber.
So here's a little shout out, to a guy with only 2 finds and one hide. Thank you Rob Garrison.
I bet you after almost 20 years you would have never thought that people would still be finding this geocache. I really hope that you are still around to enjoy some of these logs on the book.
I left a few Jeep trackables because I knew this was a worthy and stable cache .
Took a small elephant pendant for a friend back home in Tucson. Favorite point awarded! Find # 2230 first one in Colorado.
Thank you for the journey Rob Garrison.

Respectfully MANNFAM aka Jeremy.

Mit Pitfeder auf USA-Tour...

Diesen interessanten Ort bestaunt.

Inhalt alles in Ordnung.
Hier noch die Sonne genossen und ein paar: „Basler Läckerli“ verspiessen.

Day 3 of an epic 6 day journey out to the western frontier. I had some vacation time that I needed to burn up by the end of the year, and what better way to use it than to go Geocaching! My main goal was to find caches in New Mexico and Nevada, which would complete my map in the western US. The rest of the 4 remaining states are on the East Coast. Secondary goals were to find oldies, mostly virtuals, and high favorited caches. The only bad part of the trip was that it rained every single day of my vacation.

I headed south out of MN on Sunday and returned home on Friday.
Sunday - Drive all the way through to Colorado (15 hours!)
Monday - Cache in and around Denver and Colorado Springs, with an attempt at Pike's Peak (closed at Mile 14)
Tuesday - Head south towards GC19 and then west through Wolf Creek Pass
Wednesday - Four Corners monument and west towards Nevada
Thursday - After a night in Richfield, UT, head east through the skiing areas of Colorado towards Nebraska
Friday - The long drive home

Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for me to find and for keeping the oldies going all these years.
What an amazing view! I just wish it hadn't been snowing so much so I could enjoy it. It is utterly and completely quiet out here. Crazy quiet.

Our second big trip this year. This time more mid country hunting for the oldest caches in the states. Our trip started in Kansas City, MO and continued through Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, the most NW corner of Texas, New Mexico to culminate in Colorado. It rained all day first three days but that did not stop us to accomplish our goals and some. Colorado Springs welcomed us with the snow and below freezing temperatures. But the hunt must go on... Maggie :) and I enjoyed this beautiful country, the scenery, the animals, the food and friendly people.

A bit of a nervous ride up as the temperature dropped and it was snowing. Our rental Rouge made no problem. A hike to the top was great and the cache was found quickly. TFTC

This was the 2nd of 2 Year 2000 caches that were primary targets for me on this trip, the other being GC67 which I found this morning. I loved everything about this cache, the scenic drive up here, the beautiful vistas on the walk out to GZ, the elevation, the golden aspens everywhere and the location of the cache. Definitely one of the more memorable of my Y2K finds, and my 4th July 2000 cache bring me at long last to 4x Jasmer.

I had a bit of trouble with the elevation this morning, but by the time I got here I was doing fine and if I'd had more time I would have liked to have hiked to the top of West Spanish Peak. I think I might have to make it a point to visit here again, Colorado is in my Top 5 favorite states to visit and I have a friend who lives near Denver now as well.

Thanks for the great experience, I wish all caches could be as much fun as this one was. A favorite for sure, for both the memorable experience and the great views!

On a Fall trip through Colorado doing some caching and seeing the sites. A beautiful scenic drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting the downtown areas of Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs to name a few. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the Barr trail at the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was a wonderful trip with quite a bit of caching thrown in along the way. We are now turning toward home and some county caching along the way. This was our second year 2000 cache on this trip. We enjoyed the hike and the view. Thanks for placing this one.

11:13 AM My wife and I are from Dallas. We stayed in Divide, CO for our traditional August vacation to beat the Texas heat for a couple of weeks. Today we started for home.

This cache has been on my "To Do" list for quite some time. This time my wife agreed to split the drive home into two days and take the three hour detour to get to the trailhead and hike to the cache. (This is a fee area and the current fee is $7 for Day Use.)

We had a nice walk/hike to the Vista lookout and a great view of West Spanish Peak. The haze did mar our view of other mountain ranges in the area. We enjoyed it very much. I'm happy to add my favorite point.

I signed the log and left the "Evil MIcro" geocoin proxy in the cache. Thanks, ttugps, for keeping this old cache going. It does happen to fill the July 2000 Jasmer slot a second time for me. Now I lack only November 2000 from completing 2xJasmer.

What an awesome spot for this golden oldie! We are travelling from Colorado City to Clayton today and this was our only must do cache for the day - even though we visited lots of others too! The drive in was very interesting, seeing the evidence of the recent wildfires and also the gratitude that the locals showed to the heroes who fought the fire and stopped it spreading. Once we pulled off the 12, the route was very interesting but by going steady and avoiding the big holes, our rental car made it with ease. Once at Cordova Pass, we paid our parking fee and set off along the gentle trail towards GZ. It didn't take long for the amazing vista to come into view and we were blown away by how awesome it is up here. Once at GZ, the cache was soon located and we posed for lots of pics before signing the logbook and then slowly making our way back via the nearby EarthCache. Many thanks to the CO for not only placing this cache and sharing this awesome spot with us, but also for keeping it alive for so long. Please have a Fave Point even though it is worth many more!

We have visited quite a few old caches already this holiday and this one certainly didn't disappoint and has to be the cache with the best views of all of them so far. Reading some previous logs we were a little concerned that our rental car wouldn't make it all the way up to the camp ground due to rough terrain but it turned out not to be too bad and taking it steady we were fine. It was a nice steady walk to GZ with no real elevation gain. Thankfully we took the correct upper path at the fork and were soon coming out of the woods to the open ground. The views were amazing and really does make this cache location. So pleased that I made it here and thank you for keeping this old cache going. Worth many Favourite points but sadly I can only award 1.

On my three-week vacation tour from the east coast to the west coast, I have seen and experienced a lot. I could not visit all caches from the PQ because I did not have the time.
I thank all owners for hiding and care of the cans.

Wow - have had this geocache on our bucket list for some time - and we found it!!!! Woo hoo!!!! Was a little apprehensive traveling on the road since this dirt road had a lot of big stones and holes, but we made it to the campground without issues. It was a cool 66 degrees so the hike was very nice - and the view was wonderful; don’t see anything like this in Florida. SL - TFTC - WOW!!!!

Visiting from Florida and made a side trip to pick up this cache since we are working on finishing up the jasmer. We drove the very dry dirt road and so glad that it hadn’t rained as it would really be too muddy. Also the weather was great as it was 66 degrees - perfect weather for hiking. A fav point. SL - TFTC

WOW... I finally was able to get up here to find this oldie. Previous visits to Colorado just didn’t have enough spare time, but today was different. My RAV4 had no trouble with the totally dry road. The weather was perfect too. I did not find any TBs in the container this morning. I did find a PathTag and I dropped one of my personal PathTags for future finders. The view is spectacular from up here. I also was surprised to have a good AT&T cell/data signal so I did a FaceTime session with Vertumnis who is in Pennsylvania. Thanks so much for placing and maintaining this exciting cache. It will be a memorable location for sure. Favorite point ..!

Came out from NJ to grab a few 2k caches. Interesting drive up to campground. Dirt road is not bad, just had to go slow. It was getting late by the time I got to parking area, so moved rather quickly along the vista trail - less than 30 min up and back, along with a few pix. Nice old ammo can, easy to find. TFTC.

TFTCSL this was a fun walk out here. The minivan made it up the dirt road just fine. I took the lower Trail on accident and had to backtrack up Mountain. I was in a hurry because the rain clouds were coming in I didn't want to be stuck on a muddy dirt road with the minivan. Excellent views up here. Thanks for maintaining this oldie.
