07/19/2024 By LeewayeDiscGolf FTF! with nite_raven and Gwen;) at 1:45pm. We had to meet up with Gwen;) this morning for work and then a late breakfast. Right as she was leaving for home this published. We stopped her in the middle of the street to see if she wanted to go and agreed to meet at the 11th Street Trailhead as long as we could beat the storms. We ran and got our swimming stuff and just happened to have the life jackets hanging on the back gazebo drying from cliff jumping. Grabbed 'em and headed off. Once we got to the trailhead we had to wait a bit for Gwen;), so we ran up to Dollar General and found some cheap adult goggles for $1 each. Ended up being the best few bucks we'd spent. Not sure we could have done this one without 'em. Crazy amount of sand and debris in the water today. By the time we got back Gwen;) was ready. I'd grabbed my magnet fishing setup since it was the only thing with rope, that was already out and ready, in case the current was crazy. Once we got to GZ I attempted to toss it over a bridge beam so we could hold the rope. The magnet promptly got stuck. It could hold my full weight. Lol. We spent more time getting in the cold water and getting the magnet unstuck than we did getting the cache. Lol. Took us quite awhile to spot it until nite_raven hit just the right spot. Coordinates seemed spot on though. Not very proud of how long that carabiner took me to unhook. Rehooking it went super quick. Very rad cache! Left ya a favorite. Left a weighted minnow fishing lure. (hook has a cover) Right after gathering everything for the walk out, nite_raven's flip flop snapped, leaving her to hobble back to 11th on the ant infested trail. Decided we'd head to Fazolis next. The storm hit right when we pulled in.
