The cache is a short walk up the Tombstone Trail just down the road from the Visitor Center at Steamboat Lake State Park. Please be aware of the debris from the tree cutting to clear out the beetle killed trees.

The Tombstone Trail is a short hike that takes you to the top of a wooded knoll. At the peak of this knoll is a historical marker. Make sure to read it for a little history of the area. We saw deer, Sandhill Cranes, and a raptor we were not able to determine the type of, while hiding this cache.

You will be treated to some very nice views of the lake and Sand Mountain from the trail.

Please rehide the cache as well as you can without moving it away from its current location.

A beautiful view from here. I was wandering by with a whole gang of people along the tombstone loop and at one point while others were stopping to take photos I found and grabbed this cache. Thanks.

Our very first find with our 5 year old boy! He loved every minute of it! We added a glow stick and really enjoyed seeing all the other treasures! We are geo hooked!!
