Approximately 10 miles from Crested Butte. Terrain is navigable by
most automobiles. However, the roads are closed from November
through May.

The cache is a small rectangular Rubbermaid container.
Sward says, "I recently visited this location and felt is was a GREAT place for a cache. There is a beautiful lake, camping, and lodge nearby. I also found out the movie 'Mountain Family Robinson' was filmed at this location. Hence, the cache name..."

There is a decent gravel road most of the way up. The last 1/2 mile or so of road approaching the cache area is rough and rocky but can be driven with most cars. The terrain is rolling and grassy. No major climbing, but walking takes a little more effort at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet!

wow this lake is busy!! wanted to grab the cache and scout out a camping spot but it was pretty crowded - found the cache and enjoyed the view though!

Found it on 8/1/17 but I didn't have any service up there and it didn't log. Found with ridd9454, and left trackable. Absolutely gorgeous place, tftc. Making this a favorite because the area was so beautiful and the wild flowers were just gorgeous. It was so beautiful I couldn't get enough of that area. The picture is of the lake , not the actual cache hide area

Camping at Erickson Springs. Driving up to Crested Butte just to enjoy the country. Unfortunately for me they are spraying MagCal on the road this week! Ughh -- very muddy! But I persisted on this road several times in two days! Enjoyed the short hike to see this cache - up and over a snow bank. It's in good shape although a little damp.

We took a couple of DerSucher!'s friends geocaching and were in this park fishing. While we were zeroed out on the gps a ways away from where the container was, we could see where the regular container was. Thanks for placing it and for the geofun!
