This cache is located on a small island on Island Lake in the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre National Forest.  The Lake is just above 10,000' in elevation and some sort of water craft will be needed to access the cache (unless the lake is frozen over!)

A self-pay day use fee (presently $6) is required at the boat ramp/parking area at the west end of the lake.  The paddle to the island is slightly less than a mile, which will give you the opportunity to tour most of the lake.

Great day on the lake today, fishing through the sun, rain, sun, rain, sun, hail, sun, rain, and sun. A bit bipolar but great day with my son on Father's Day. Thanks for bringing me to this spot.
