A cache along Rollins Pass Road. But we could go no further. . . we were. . . Snowblocked.
Rollins Pass Road follows roads used to build, and in some areas, follows the track bed for Rollins Pass. Due to the blockage in the Needle Eye Tunnel (which was actually restored, but for safety reasons, remains blocked), you cannot cross over Rollins Pass to the west side's Corona Pass using a vehicle, but you can hike across it.

July 15, 2010. Still not late enough in the season for a 4 x 4 to continue further up the road. A huge snowbank covered the road making it too unsafe to drive. But I placed a cache anyway because the view was still amazing.

 Hints

There's a field of three large rocks. Look at the middle shelf rock.

This road has been on my bucket list for a long time. Got up early today and took the mountain bike for an epic ride. Stopped to grab this cache. Still some snow across the road so had to dismount the bike and walk across. Thanks!

On a day trip with family. All is good with the cache, we added a pen as one wasn't present. We have always enjoyed this area and always plan to come back. Beautiful!! TFTC!
