This cache is meant to be a very simple cache and dash. It is located ON the M-60 Main battle tank, and was placed by the National Guard personnel who work here. There are a couple of rules that must be followed, however. First, the cache is reachable from ground level if you are an average height person. Please do NOT climb on the tank. We don't want anyone getting hurt, but touching is A-OK! Please park in an available spot and feel free to take pictures of the tanks and the Huey.

Very easy cache and dash. Cache is part of the tank. If a hatch is locked, the cache is not there (we don't want a wasp to get you). Please do not climb on the tank or disturb the ground. Cache is integrated into the tank, but climbing or crawling is not needed. very easy to reach while standing next to the tank. I had the honor of hauling this beast from Fort Carson to GJ and wanted to be sure that the geo caching community would be able to see it. This particular tank has belonged to the Colorado Army National Guard for many years, so it has it's roots here in our state. The team that works in the building behind the tank supports an Engineer Company, and you can see some of our heavy equipment that is here to be worked on from the location of the tank. The M60 Main battle tank was first produced in about 1960 as a replacement for the smaller M48. It is still used by many of our Allies. It was used during The Iran / Iraq war (82-89), Lebanon (1982), and during my first combat deployment: the First Gulf War (Desert Storm). I was NOT a tanker, but did see a few of these old boys rolling around in the sand. The M60 weighs in at around 52 Tons, was powered by a 750 hp, twin turbo diesel engine. All of it was manufactured in the US, and is truly a sight to see and enjoy. You are also welcome to look at the M43 Duster located to the west. It was a 40mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun known for all of the "dust" that was kicked up as it fired. It was a very popular gun platform during the conflict in Vietnam. It was powerd by a 500hp turbo charged gasoline "boxer" engine (all you Subaru, VW and Porche fans understand the significance).

Please do not bother the staff or enter the fenced in area. Questions can be directed to me. Have fun! Cache contains some military memorabilia, and we would like to see the theme continue. I have included my contact information on a card accompanying the cache. FTF can call me for a small token from all of us Guard members. Happy Caching!

 Hints

If you have watched any movies about Infantrymen working with tankers, you have to ask yourself a question; how do you talk to someone inside the tank?
