I think this hike got all the cobwebs blown out. Cache is still there.

I found this nice cache while taking a short tour through this part of Colorado. Unfortunately, my timing was off as many areas that contained caches I wanted to find were not yet open to the public after closing for the winter months. I'll have to make a return visit to this area in the future. Fortunately, I was able to come after this one and selected it over other caches because it looked fun, had a nice D/T rating, and helped meet a challenge requirement. I came at this from the nearby GC58V8D On the Bench. Fortunately, the knee / thigh deep snow in that area gave way to occasional patches. Unlike most caches in this area, I walked right up to this one and made a easy find. Given the openness of the area and access to the giant heat tab in the sky, I took a nice break after making the find. Given its location, this GZ presented a different perspective from the other caches of the area. I especially enjoyed the "keyhole" visibility down Highway 550 south from area, awesome views. After my break, I was looking forward to the easier descent. I appreciate the CO making the nice placement and great site selection, TFTC.

Man, I wish Jake would quit putting caches up here. At least there is a gorgeous view once on top. Well, another physical work-out. Appreciate you placing all the caches in Silverton. SJC..
