This cache is located at a popular scenic pullout along Hwy 550. It should be an easy park and grab. The views of Red Mountain and the mining sites nearby are worth stopping to see. The history of the area is presented on several plaques at the parking area. This can be a high muggle area at times, so it may require stealth.
The container is a camo covered altoid tin hidden in a high traffic part of the pullout. Original contents were a gold dollar president coin, a light up hat pin, and a log book. Bring your own pencil. There is room for small items or a coin.

Headed West today (well ok - and a little North too), taking a route that only a geocacher would understand. I stopped here to take a break from the driving - and of course to find this cache. I had to wait out some muggles before making the grab and of course more muggles showed up as I was replacing it (ummm - rather tying my shoe). I enjoyed learning about the history here. Thanks for the fun!
