Follow the road past the Willow Creek Campground and turn right. The road winds down through a stand of aspens to a parking area. The trailhead starts at the end of the parking area. The cache is an easy hike up the trail.
The trail rises up to an overlook of the reservoir, where you will find the Rusty Rock: a boulder with rust colored lichen.

The cache contains a collection of trinkets, doo-dads and gewgaws. Please sign the log book.

The view is especially nice around sunset. The autumn equinox, when the aspens are turning, is also a nice time to visit.

Due to heavy snows, the cache will be inaccessible during the winter.

 Hints

The Rusty Rock is on the right side of the trail. To the left is a field of rocks and sage brush. Head across the field, approximately SE. The cache is just inside the woods, under a juniper bush.

Found it! There are a few logs you have to climb over, so the trail's not as easy as it was a few years ago, but it's worth the view if you go slow & easy

We pulled into the parking area and Maggie was asleep with her head on my leg - so Sandy volunteered to make the grab here. Sandy left the Ford, Maggie looked at me with a doggie grin, I gave her a treat for a trick well done, and then reclined the seat for a nap. Wonder when Sandy will figure out THAT trick?
