Fairly easy find at the base of Colorado National Monument. Great views of the Grand Valley and of Liberty Cap towering above. Good cache to get before a hike up Liberty Cap.
Access this cache via the lower Liberty Cap trailhead off of Wildwood Drive (N 39 04.082, W 108 39.616). The cache is on BLM land, not in the National Monument, and you will not need to go into the Monument at any time. It is possible to follow trails almost all the way to the cache so please don't walk off trail too much and "bust the crust." The cache itself is a small sandwich-sized Tupperwear container. It's original contents were a mini scooter, a Mickey Mouse wobbler, a bouncy ball, and two Ice Age II roller characters. Good luck and thanks for caching!

We picked up some caches on the way home after playing a baseball tournament in Grand Junction this weekend. We hiked up to the Liberty Cap this afternoon and came back the longer Corkscrew route.

We picked up some caches on our Liberty Cap Hike before heading back home to Wyoming. We went up the direct route only to come back by way of the corkscrew switchbacks trail. It was a sunny day in the low 50's, but it was crispy cool in the wind on top.
