I placed this cache here to honor Bret Stearns and all BLM firefighter that have lost their lives in the line of duty to this country.

Bret was kill in late June 2009 during a tree removal operation on Black Mountain north of town near Freeman Reservoir. He was a captain with the Northwest Colorado Interagen­cy Fire Management Unit. This man will be missed by all who served with him.
