North Lone Pine Trail on the way to Deadman.
A couple of years ago, we had a tough time keeping our, then 7 year old, motivated to continue up the trail. A new game-Frozen Chipmunk. Young one puts hands infront of chest, like a chipmunk or bunny. One foot is raised. Hence, frozen chipmunk. To release, tap child on the head, gently, and say "beep". Oh my, can you gain many a stride along a beautiful trail.

Deadman road is closed, according to the forest service, from November until May. We have seen this road closed as early as Oct. and as late as June, so please beware.

This cache is located about 1/4 mile along the trail. There is a great parking location, so that shouldn't be a problem. Have fun, enjoy the Rockies.

The family and I decided to take a trip to the mountains for a picnic and a hike. Of course I picked where to hike to get some caches along the trail. Need to make my hikes worth while right?

Ended up running into Pixel Magic at the first cache of the day and joined them for the rest of the days excursion. Fire Tower was a highlight for sure.

Ended up having a wonderful day caching, hiking and eating in the mountains. Thanks for the caching fun along our path

Our kids had a great time finding this cache. We took a animal rubberband and left a monopoly skate.[ :)]

Nice walk along a lovely trail. Kids were running ahead and had found it before the slow ones even caught up. Thanks for the cache.

Dropping a travel bug, Pete the Pentulant Pirate, #C4VHCZ, after Manybooks logged in error as being 'discovered' instead of retrieving.

A nice day to hike this area! I had a travel bug with me that I picked up a couple weeks ago in town (Red Feather), but I hadn't logged him properly and I dropped him off in this cache today. I'm hoping the next person to take Pete can get him logged correctly. Thanks for the cache!

Experienced on and off rain during the afternoon.
Pleasant drive.

First time on this trail.
Thanks for getting us here.
Decided to place a new cache while we were exploring the area.
