Geocaching Colorado
This one is a fairly easy hike from the west with only slight elevation changes. The only real difficult part is the 10ft climb at the end that could be troublesome for some. It's a nice hike even if you can't reach the cache.
This a nice hike up a beautiful box canyon. Once in the canyon, you really don't need the gps to find the cache. Go to the end of the canyon and you'll see what you are looking for. Will take a little climbing (10ft), but it doesn't take any special equipment.Anybody have any ideas about what this is?? I have an idea, but would like to hear your thoughts. Would be interesting to see if anyone knows any of the names listed in the place. Post some names and dates to make this interesting. This one is rated 3.5 due to the short climb at the end. It is an otherwise a pleasant (probably 1.5 miles each way) hike in a beautiful area. If you come at this from the east end (Little Park Road) be prepared for a longer hike of approx 3.5 to 4 miles round trip. The easy way is from the west (Devils Kitchen trailhead in Colorado Nat'l Monument) end.The cache is in a small tupperware type sandwich size container containing nothing but a pen, a log book and the Geocaching sheet.

Go it with tqb123 and Geocowboy_02 while out on the field trip with a BUNCH of 6th graders. Great hike through a cool canyon. Beware of the poison Ivy just below the cache!!! TFTC SL

What a fun way to spend my morning! I dropped my youngest kid off at preschool and drove straight for the monument. I parked at the Picnic Area parking lot, since the other one close to the road was full. Anyway, I went up Echo Canyon Trail. Very beautiful spot and a great day to hike. I got to the end and I figured out exactly where I needed to go. I climbed up (cautiously, I might add since I was by my self!) and scratched around a bit before finding the container. There are some interesting to say the least muggle logs in the logbook! I'd be curious, judging by the muggle logs, what the "inappropriate" items in the cache were. Anyway, I signed the log and put it back where I found it, carefully made my way back down to the floor of the canyon and hiked out. I didn't encounter a soul after leaving the car. I guess that makes it nice once in a while. Anyway, thanks BT for taking over ownership of this cache and keeping it going. I'm going to add it to my favorites!

Incidentally, one of the muggle logs said this hike reminds them of Negro Bill Canyon near Moab, and I have to agree. The main difference is the lack of people, but both hikes are beautiful. Thanks again!

Oh yeah, and as for what this is, I have no idea. I figure some kind of old mining exploratory hole.

This is the end...

Beautiful day!

I checked this one today as nobody had found it in a while, found it in great shape other than a crack in the lid. I replaced the container and removed inapropriate items. Cache on!

Temporarily Disable Listing 07/01/2009 By wyrdmagic
I am in Louisiana visiting family and may move here permanently. This cache has not been found for over a year so I am disabling it for now. I may archive it or put it up for "adoption" so check back soon. Happy hunting!

Couldn't figure out how to get to the cache. Perhaps another approach would work. We'll try again sometime.

Came out here again, this time with bubba. I really need to read the descriptions. Not just run out after waypoints that I have in my GPS assuming I know how to get there. Came by way of Little Park Road and visited at the tunnel by Andy's Dandy Cars. Bubba also wanted to trade something so we did. We continued on and got to the "end". What a beautiful canyon! I was standing right over it I'm sure. After walking around the edge, I could see right were the cache should be. Oh well. We'll try it again sometime, maybe in the spring. I'd really like to see the water flowing.
