This cache is hidden near the turn around spot close to the top of the Brown Mtn.trail between Silverton and Ouray at 11,800 ft. elevation. Four wheel drive transportation is recommended.
Near the turn around area are a few rock piles called "cairns". Hikers and other travelers often make these small landmarks in memory of their visit to a special place. It is not necessary to dismantle any cairns or to remove any rocks from the piles. You are looking for a small camo covered bottle containing a small log and a pencil stub. There is room for small items or micro coins. This is not a difficult hide, so don't put a lot of thought into it. My gpsr was reading at an accuracy of 10 ft. Be careful not to crush any of the small flowers that are all around this area.

Found while on road trip with my daughter, WingsAndTales, and our friend, The Doll. Beautiful scenery---weather---and fun time. My first visit to southwest Colorado. This was our first cache find of the day and so great to be able to watch the sun gradually light up the mountain side. TFTC.

I found this cache on a fall color/caching road trip through SW Colorado with my mom, CJ Tag, and our friend, The Doll. It was 3 days and 900 miles of paved, dirt and 4WD only roads. The scenery alone would have made the trip worth it but we also got 10 new counties and 12 Delorme pages during the trip. We packed a lot in but there is so much more to do that we will have to come back. The cache was an easy find once we got there. There was one spot near the start of the road where water runoff has dug out the road. That was the toughest spot and the rest was a fun drive to the cache in my Xterra. There are signs at most of the road splits to show the way. There are great views from the cache site especially with the aspens changing. TFTC

We all are first to find in 37 months (3 years, 1month) Yay! There were about 7 or 8 of us hunting for it, Jayne made the discovery but gave credit to OrangeJeep hubby for shacking it loose from it's hiding spot. We re-hid it well out of the weather but not un-findable. Great place for a hide. BigSmile

This was in the cache.

Found this one on a long camping weekend with my son. Found on my dirt bike - the best way to cache. Thanks for the fun stop

Found the cache at 10:15am and just SL. looks like critters have chewed on the container a bit but it's still OK. We saw two deer on the way down. TFTC, Eric & Pat
