How many of you know there's a lake very near the top of Loveland Pass?
No need to park on the highway - there's a small parking lot by the lake. You'll be looking for a 50 cal ammo can that will probably be inaccessible a good part of the year because of snow. Please stay on existing trails.

8/26/08 - cache is now slightly further east, but please do not park on HWY 6. Use the lake lot.
9/07/2016 It appears that searchers have been wandering across the tundra, which is damaging, and not sticking to trails. I will get up there and reassess the area and move or archive the cache. In the meantime please do not search for it.

What a location...and in the hailstorm that occurred at the time we came over the pass as we drove from Georgetown to Breckenridge.

I hate to contradict a CO, but although there are several trials at the parking lot and a light trail at GZ, there is no real trail in between; some cross-country travel s inevitable. Other than that it s a fine cache; TFTH!
