I thought I would lure you all to some of the less known and less traveled side roads of our mountain community. I also thought I might put something out there that is a little more challenging than my usual.

Cinch Court/Iowa Gulch Road has good, safe access from US-285 north bound (going toward Denver). There is a deceleration lane to get off and an acceleration lane to get back on. There is U-turn access north and south of the turn off. You can also get to it from the Homestead.

This gravel road is county maintained but there is limited access in the winter time. AWD might be a good idea if there is snow on the ground. I see people jogging and hiking up this road as well. The cache should be winter friendly (if you want to snowshoe in).

WARNING! Recent road conditions from US-285 are terrible. Spring rains left large ruts everywhere. I recommend high clearance 4x4. From the other direction it is OK with regular car but AWD wouldn't hurt.

Quite a challenge getting to this location.
The road absolutely needs 4WD.
The cache was quite a challenge too.
Was lucky finding it.

There are definitely some deep ruts on the road, but nothing my Escape couldn't handle. TFTC. On to the next.

Repaired Cache. It's back in character. The road in from 285 is terrible! The spring rains created many large ruts. I recommend the use of a high clearance 4x4 if you come in that way. The road from the other direction (from Homestead) is passable with lower clearance vehicles. AWD is recommended if snow or wet conditions exist

Broken. Applied a band-aid until further healing can be done.
