A long mountain bike ride up the Flash of Gold trail from the Dry Lake trailhead, or a relatively short hike from any number of points along the Buffalo Pass Road (which is not paved, but is passable in two-wheel-drive vehicles during the summer up to this point from Steamboat Springs) brings you to this semipermanent one-person lean-to. There is a view down the Spring Creek drainage towards the Flat Tops. This is a fantastic lunch spot no matter how you get there, but only a short few steps off the main trail.
